I never thought I’d be
So stupidly happy
Under their waving
Hand-shaped leaves,
Their prickly fruits
Which we loved so much
To collect and peel
When we were kids.
But here I am,
Breathing fresh air,
Sharing with you
Friendship, happy memories.
Maybe life can be bearable
After this much grief,
Heartbreak
And emptiness
If we hold each other?
